If you are interested in the fabrication of components ranging from large metal parts such as ship engine cylinders or tiny gears of a swiss watch, then Turning might be your thing.
The demand for precision fabrication of metal parts in manufacturing and services is ever increasing and turning will remain essential to the industry far into the future. After completing an apprenticeship, you will be a qualified Turner with The Red Seal.

A qualified artisan will be able to:
- Apply hand skills to fabricate mechanical components using engineering tools
- Machine mechanical components by preparing for, setting up and operating a range of metal engineering machining tools and equipment
- Intake: Flexible Intake
- Duration: 27 to 36 months, depending on the pace of the learner
- Who Should Apply: School Leavers, Artisan Aides, Not-yet-qualified/Semi-Skilled Boilermakers and Entrepreneurs
