Businesses and individuals always want faster, more stable and higher capacity communication capabilities. Fibre optic technology is imperative to such improvements, whether it be fibre to the home or business, or the infrastructure that forms the backbone of telecommunications globally. Did you know that optic fibre forms the backbone of mobile telecommunication networks? This means that every time you use your mobile device the information is carried through optic fibre lines to and from “cell phone” towers.
Fibre optic technology is applied in telecommunication networks, health care systems, military applications and manufacturing industries, all these systems and many more require fast and secure data transfer. The demand is ever increasing with the amounts of data being transmitted globally increasing at lightning speeds. The ever-increasing demand is leading to more-and-more opportunities for new & existing businesses and individuals.
Our optic fibre programmes provide for an excellent starting block into this exciting and expanding industry.
Want to know how to get the job done from start to finish, while understating the risks and complexities involved? During this course you will learn how to select the correct optic fibre cables for specific applications. How to identify and specify standard components of a fibre optic link. Importantly, how to complete a fibre to the home project from start to finish.
This programme enables existing and prospective optic fibre installers and maintenance specialists to take advantage of South Africa’s rapid expansion of optic fibre infrastructure.

The following subjects will be covered during this course:
Today’s global businesses and homeowners demand faster, more secure, and larger capacity communication systems for their network operations (4G and 5G networks). Fibre optic technology is expected to play a major part in telecommunication expansion.
During this course you will learn the “how to” of all the key activities involved in optic fibre projects. This includes fundamental knowledge of how fibre optics work and more importantly _how to do what and when_ during infrastructure projects, distribution projects and point-of-use connections.
This programme is offered in different versions, one being a 5-day contact theory & practical course and the other a 3-day online interactive theory & illustration course, however, to acquire the 2 CPD points a 1-day practical session must be completed.
