Engineering Candidacy Programmes

Candidacy programmes are structured solutions designed to provide sufficient mentoring and guidance to unemployed and employed qualified Technicians, Technologists and Engineers to become registered professionals with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). Candidates are provided with the exact outcomes required for registration as well as step by step guidance in group and individual sessions.

By becoming a registered professional, you significantly improve your employability, job security and income. For some positions and certain sizes & types of projects it is required by law that a registered professional be appointed.

Who can apply?

    • Technicians with a National N Diploma (TVET) in Engineering studies
    • Technicians with a National Diploma(University of Technology) in Engineering
    • Technologist with a Bachelor of Technology
    • Technologist with a Bachelor of Engineering Technology
    • Engineer with a Bachelor of Engineering
    • Engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering
    • The programme will run as follows:
      • Gap analysis/ assessment
      • Candidacy program to ensure the relevance of the projects and experience
      • Registration process with ECSA
    • The programme will run as follows:
      • Gap analysis
      • 1 year candidacy program 
      • Registration process with ECSA
    • The programme will run as follows: 
      • Gap analysis/ assessment
      • Candidacy program through RC to ensure that you reach at least 3 years’ relevant engineering experience
      • Registration process with ECSA
    • The programme will run as follows:
      • Gap analysis/ assessment 
      • 1 year candidacy program through RC
      • Registration process with ECSA
    • The programme will run as follows:
      • Gap analysis/ assessment
      • Candidacy program to ensure the relevance of the projects and experience
      • Registration process with ECSA

      • 1 year candidacy program
