Are you interested in lathe turning, milling, cutting, shaping, and the machining & fitting of keys, couplings, bushes, shafts and bearings? If yes, then Fitting & Machining might be your thing.

The demand for people to be able to perform high-precision measurements, a wide range of high-precision machining processes, and fitting of mechanical components are ever increasing, and Fitters & Turners are foreseen to form a vital part of industry far into the future. After completing an apprenticeship, you will be a qualified Fitter & Machinist with The Red Seal.

A qualified artisan will be able to:

  • Apply hand skills to fabricate mechanical components using engineering tools
  • Perform engineering maintenance on mechanical components, sub-assemblies and machines
  • Repair, install and commission subassemblies and machines
  • Machine mechanical components using machining tools and equipment
  • Intake: Flexible Intake
  • Duration: 27 to 36 months, depending on the pace of the learner
  • Who Should Apply: School Leavers, Artisan Aides, Not-yet-qualified/Semi-Skilled Boilermakers and Entrepreneurs
